Is the Government doing enough for local producers? @ 04 Apr 2008
It seems that the press dedicates a lot of column inches to local food producers, but is the Government doing enough to help this industry? With over 3,000 producers on this site alone what can we do for the greater good?
Littlelocalfood.com goes global! @ 11 Mar 2008
We are really getting there with our global-local network of food producers and food friends. This blog is the latest addition to our site to keep things up to date and to give you a place to comment on the local food movement and how business and the government can improve things… all comments are [...]

Now we are Global!
As you may have seen we have now launched our US and Canadian versions of littlelocalfood.com. This is very exciting, and while we haven’t got all that many producers from these countries to date, we are working hard to make sure that producers across the globe have seen the site, and hopefully go on to become part of our local, global, family.
We will be adding more features to improve the lives of our members in early 2008, and hopefully you will start to read a little more about our company over the next 12 months, which can only be good for all of us!
If you would like to comment, or help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
A brand new member of the team
Now littlelocalfood.com is up and running and the outlook is great, we have gone ahead and taken on a shiny new team member. Matt Pike (international model – we’re not joking! – and Suffolk farm resident) is our new General Manager. This is very exciting, and we are sure he will be contributing himself over the coming weeks and months, so please come back and see what he has to say.
If you would like to contact Matt directly on site or any other food-related issues, then please do so here.
British Food Fortnight 2008 announced
Running from 20th September to 5th October and approaching its seventh year, British Food Fortnight is the biggest national celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces.
Whether you are a shop owner, a teacher, a chef or a member of the public, British Food Fortnight is inspiring people to re-discover the diverse and delicious food our country produces. The event is now much more than a fun focal point for our national produce; it has become a major mass movement that is changing the way we choose, cook and enjoy our food.

Littlelocalfood.com launches to much praise
So what is it all about? Littlelocalfood.com is a new site designed to give people across the country access to their local food producers, not only helping to keep their food miles down, but uniquely committing to the local industry. We all know that the supermarket is convenient, but how many times do you check out the packaging just to say I wish we could have something home grown!

We want to revolutionise the way people shop (that sounds simple doesn't it!). We want to give you a way of finding out where to buy all the good local produce we all know we should be buying. It really is that simple.
- All our food producers have their own profile which they can add to, and update, or even delete, any time they like.
- This is a national site designed for local food lovers and local food producers to get together, we have no other agenda.
- This site is for everyone, and it is completley free to join!
- 30% of the advertising income goes to promoting this site, the more people who get involved the more successful you will be.
- This site will grow in users and functionality over time, and we are committed to making this the number 1 local food site available anywhere.
